Who is Sanctuary Furnishing?
Who We Are
We are a French-American family with a six-generation woodworking heritage. For more than a century, our family has worked with wood not as a commodity, but as a living material — one that carries memory, character, and soul. Skills were passed from hands to hands, workshops to homes, across borders and generations.
Sanctuary Furnishing is built around our family life — around shared meals, slow mornings, traveled roads, and the objects we choose to surround ourselves with.
A Life Shaped by Travel & Heirlooms
Our love for travel has deeply shaped our aesthetic and our values. From our own family homes, rug shops in Istanbul, rural workshops in Mexico to coastal villages in Indonesia, we have always been drawn to places where objects are made with intention — where furniture is not trend-driven, but deeply functional, durable, and quietly beautiful.
Along the way, we collected heirloom pieces. Armoires passed on from generations we did not get to meet. Storage trunk with multiple lives. Tables built to host moments that matter. Vessels shaped by hand. These objects carry stories. They ground spaces. They age with dignity.
Those experiences planted the seed for Sanctuary Furnishing.
We wanted to create a company devoted to pieces that feel the same way:
objects chosen once, kept for life, and passed forward.
From Our Family to Your Home
We believe true luxury is calm.
It is material honesty.
It is craftsmanship you can feel.
It is fewer things — made better.
Every Sanctuary piece is guided by three principles:
-
Noble materials — teak, mahogany, organic terracotta, natural fibers
-
Human craftsmanship — visible hands, intentional construction, timeless techniques
-
Enduring design — furniture that outlives trends and grows more beautiful with time
Our hope is that what we create becomes part of your rituals, your gatherings, your pauses, and your passing of time.
